Why I do this.
There's a 14-year-old girl in Maryland. She has three employees on her DDA staff. Her mom, her dad, and her brother. The brother is the one who actually takes care of her.
A nurse had already charged $1,000 of her training budget. The brother never got CPR-certified through it. Just like that, the family was about to lose direct support — because the one person who could be there for her didn't have the paperwork to do it.
I paid for her brother's CPR myself. I lost money. But I'm not leaving a 14-year-old without the only person who takes care of her.

I'm Sasha Puyans, founder of Puyans Prosperity Partners. I help Maryland families self-direct their DDA services, and I do the overwhelming parts alongside them — not from behind a desk.
Before this was a business, it was personal. My son Gabriel is the reason I learned this system in the first place. Once I knew it, I couldn't stop noticing how many families were getting failed by it — especially families who don't speak English, or who were never told what they're entitled to.
So I built the thing I wished we'd had: someone who knows the rules cold, answers the phone, and stays until it's handled.
